The Wyandanch Team and their Success Partners will walk attendees through a technology enhanced Data Wise process that streamlines effective instructional decisions to increase the success of students and teachers. Beginning last spring, Wyandanch leadership began a process of learning, planning and transformation of their data review process. Their goal was to improve their ability to identify specific learning gaps for individual students across the entire district utilizing common language and process. Through this means they hoped to empower their teachers to close those learning gaps in ways that could be repeated when successful or replaced when less than successful. Evaluation of the intervention efficacy would rest within PLCs – (Professional Learning Communities) - small groups of teachers and administrator in each building. Strategies from previous efforts (before Data Wise) could easily continue, while new approaches and resources could be utilized. Among those resources are regional assessments built during the WSBOCES Teaching is the Core grant a few years ago. In addition, they sought technology to help organize and streamline their analysis. The entire process has afforded them the ability to make more effective and efficient instructional decisions. Come learn about their process and come away with strategies, resources and tools to begin the process in your district!
