To Kahoot or Not to Kahoot, That is the Question!

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Technology can be used to engage students but also to make activities more functional/practical to meet the needs of the teacher as well. Different websites/resources will be demonstrated to show how creative activities serve a useful purpose such as word clouds not only look visually appealing but they help the students to remember the material better; spelling words, vocabulary for any area, adjectives, etc. and qr codes can be used to foster collaboration and critical thinking. Kahoots are wonderful tools to engage the students but also direct instruction; they can be easily created by the teacher for any subject matter. If there isn’t any technology in the classroom, the teacher can use plickers as a different way to engage the students and only the teacher needs to have any technology. Many of these resources have activities already made for you to try out before you create your own.
The presentation will include a powerpoint that will include the resources discussed as well as the examples and demonstrations of how to use these resources.
